Christmas Puddings

The whole enjoyed a terrific day out today making Christmas puddings.  A huge thank you to The Maynard who provided all the ingredients, wonderful instruction and even fed us all with an amazing lunch (young Damon is a top cook!) that included their yummy home-made ice cream.  Reception and years 1/2/3 spent the morning exploring all the ingredients and helping each other to make the mix.  After lunch, they even got to see the finished product come out of the pressure steamer.  It was then the turn of Y4/5/6 to produce theirs in the afternoon, with only a few egg stains on the tables 🙂

When you next pop in to The Maynard, please say thanks to the staff for putting on such a great event for the children. Chef Mark Vernon was brilliant with all the school, and said what wonderful, attentive and well-behaved children they all were.
