As I am sure you’re aware, we were lucky to welcome Mrs Dalrymple-Smith into school on Friday – she was one of the torchbearers when it passed through Bakewell on the 29th June.  She spoke to the children about her experience and answered the questions they had.  It was a very interesting presentation, topped off by the children being allowed to have their photo taken with the torch itself, what an amazing souvenir for 2012!

She told us that ever since her duties, she has been visiting schools and groups to share her day.  What a wonderful contribution she’s making to the local community, a deserved individual to receive such an honour.

  1. Thank you for taking photos of the girls with the torch – what a lovely thing for them to bring home. Very thoughtful of you, and much appreciated.

  2. we were there! (along with the rest of Derbyshire) and saw her go by. What a beautiful smile she had. Fantastic moment.
