The Great Sunflower Growing Competition!
A big thank you must go to all the pupils and parents who had a go at growing the biggest sunflower during the summer holidays. I am really glad that so many of you managed to keep your plants alive – mine fell foul of the slugs and snails very early on!
The finalists are pictured above. All their sunflowers grew to a huge size! Very impressive. Laura’s sunflower was the winning plant at 235cm in height!

Well done Laura!! There must be something in your water after winning with your potatoes too at the Horticultural Society. Excellent entries for those that managed to keep theirs alive. Unlike ours! oops.
