Very Scary Scarecrows
We have spent the past couple of days having great fun creating very scary scarecrows for display in Chatsworth’s Kitchen Garden over half term. The scariest bit for us as school staff was the size of the crosses when they arrived – they were huge! However, never to be daunted by a task, we all rolled up our sleeves and dived in.
Class 1 created ‘Jack Frost’ to represent their work on the weather.
Class 2 created a very scary Plague Doctor following their work on Eyam village.
Class 3 went where no body has travelled before and created an alien out of their space topic.
A few hand picked children became ‘Mud Men‘ down in the garden and produced a fabulous willow man, made entirely out of garden resources.
As you can see from the slideshow below, the scarecrows took some putting together and all look absolutely superb.
A massive thank you to all our parents that donated materials for us to use, Mr Petts for the final group and head photography and especially to Elfie who was the official photographer for the making process.
After two trips in a flat bed truck (the initial van that arrived was too small – ooops!) the scarecrows will now be ‘planted’ at Chatsworth for half term visiting!
