Strong Water
Science Club participants were looking like real scientists this afternoon with test tubes, pipettes and nuclear fusion generators (I may have made that last one up!).
We looked at the amazing power of water: it travelled against gravity and even took some ink with it.
We used some simple chromatography using filter paper and felt-tipped pens and were amazed by what we saw. First, the water travelled up the paper and started to separate the constituent colours out; then, it took some of the ink spots completely to the top!
