Grindleford Gallop T-Shirt Design Winner

As you may already know the 2014 Grindleford Gallop is almost upon us.  The Gallop is a massive 21 mile circular route through some of Derbyshire’s finest countryside, starting and finishing in the village.  It is the main fundraiser for the school and generates  £6,000+ every year which is then spent on extra nice items to make school life more interesting e.g. visiting speakers to inspire the children; help towards cost of trips; staging; computers to name but a few.

It is a time when the whole of the school and village community works together, from making tray bakes for the runners to eat to marking out the route or tidying up the pavilion afterwards.  Any help is much appreciated and the fact that the race was ‘sold out’ after just 24 hours is a major testament to how well it is organised and run – thank you to everyone who helps out every year!  Please sign up and help, even if you can only spare a couple of hours.  A flyer will be coming home shortly.

Every year as part of the Gallop the children are all asked to have a go at designing the new logo.  This year the designs were completed in school and judged at last night’s PTA meeting.  The judging took a long time due to the high quality of designs and was a hard fought contest, with only one vote separating 1st and 2nd place!

Our winners are shown above, going from 3rd place to 2nd and then 1st place on the far right.  Congratulations!

Well done everyone else for your superb designs.  I have put a selection below.
