Andy Mouncey came back into school this morning to tell us all about his adventures doing The Spine. Apart from being incredibly funny, he fascinated us all with photos of the race and a run through of all the equipment he had to carry. From snow grips to portable stoves, we got an insight into what is needed to help someone compete in such an enduring event.
He was very impressed with the efforts the school has made in matching the 268 miles of the race, and interviewed Emily B and Brynn – our two top contributors to the grand total – about their running.
The good news is that he’s going to attempt it again next year, a terrific message of perseverance and determination.
