Aboriginal Inspired Abstracts

Tonight during ‘Artist Club’ we looked at the life and artwork of Barbara Weir.  Her story is very interesting as she was one of the Australian ‘Stolen Generation’.  In her middle age years, she managed to find her mother and her traditional culture again and at the age of 45 started to paint.  Although her work is inspired by her Aboriginal heritage, she has taken her work further and developed her own unique style.

We tried to develop our own styles tonight, looking at traditional Aboriginal symbols alongside Barbara’s work.  What do you think?
