Class 2 put on a wonderful music assembly on Friday.
We hope you can take some time to enjoy their amazing performance.
….because they AARRGGHHHH!
(Mrs Hill’s favourite pirate joke)
Well, what a performance. Classes 2 and 3 showed off their acting and singing skills this evening with the opening night of The Pirates of the Curry Bean. They have been rehearsing hard over the last few weeks, and it has all paid off as they really entertained the audience, especially with the jokes. So many standout performances, I wouldn’t want to name only a few – so I will instead say a huge well done to everyone involved.
I personally want to say thanks to Mrs Bacon for her help with the acting, props and scenery; Miss Village for helping with acting, choreography and scenery; Mrs Flint for acting and choreography; Mrs Hill for painting the scenery; all the parents who have helped in sourcing costumes for the children; and Class 1 who have let us take over their room for the last week… THANK YOU ALL.
Just one more performance tomorrow night!
We have had a lovely day visiting the Salts Mill Gallery in Saltaire to see David Hockney’s new exhibition of ipad paintings.
We were very lucky to see a lot of his other works in the main gallery before we went upstairs to the new exhibition. Some of them we had looked at and discussed during our lessons, so it was very exciting to see the original pieces.
In the new exhibition we looked at all the work and were very interested in the slide show at the end, where we saw all his pictures and images that he had produced on his iphone or ipad to send to his family and friends. We decided which pictures and images were our favourites and explained why. Then we also talked about what techniques we needed to use to enhance our own ipad work, which we started in school yesterday.
All the children were incredibly well behaved, as usual, and were a delight to take out.
Have a look at the gallery below and see which pictures you like!
The first couple of arrivals were rehoused this morning into their new abode. They certainly made a racket when put in, so I guess they liked it. As soon as they found the warmer they quietened down and started to tuck into some food too.
As two other new arrivals now had the incubator to themselves (so they could get a rest from the noise and being trodden on!), Blossom and Sunny here were getting used to being cooed over by all. They are ace – what a wonderful experience for all at school to be a part of.
For all the children who attend the Young Voices choir club and who are going to Sheffield in 2015, I have uploaded and share the vocal tracks. You can get to them by clicking here and using your Google Apps username/passwords just like you do in school.
Any problem, come and see me
Can you remember those little balls of fluff that Class 2 successfully hatched out last summer? Well, guess what? They are now so big and grown up that they are laying their own eggs.
We are so chuffed and proud of their accomplishments – it’s the chicken equivalent of graduation! Thank you to the Codd family for keeping us all informed.
Chick A has now been renamed Tikka and has moved into his new residence! Being the good boy he is, he’s already had some water and food and had a poo!
Good news! Tikka has been joined by Masala, Korma, Bhuna and Vindaloo is on his way!!!
How quick did we get to school this morning?!
