Perky and Pinky

Well, what a tremendous effort from young Bob (we don’t use real names with photos here – but he’ll like this one!).

When the ideas were coming from the pupils on how we could raise money for the Thomas Theyer Foundation, Bob suggested that he dye his hair bright pink.  I must admit that I thought he was joking……well, I am glad he wasn’t!

Not only does it look awesome, but he has raised an amazing £111.60 towards the school’s target.

WELL DONE BOB!

Thank you to all of you have supported him in this, it has made a huge contribution and made Pinky Bob very happy indeed.

Fantastic Football

Today was our fantastic football tournament, organised by us, the Sports Crew.

It was a great success as we raised £37 towards the Thomas Theyer Foundation, and everyone who played enjoyed themselves.  It started off with all the teams playing each other and the winners went through to the semi finals.  The results were:

Tottenham 0: 2  Manchester Utd

Chesterfield  2:1  Chelsea

So the third place play-off was between Tottenham and Chelsea, a tight game and it was 1-0 to Chelsea.

Chelsea – 3rd Place

The final was played between Manchester Utd and Chesterfield and the eventual winners were Utd, winning 3-2.

Chesterfield – 2nd Place

Manchester Utd – WINNERS!

The crowd enjoyed it a lot as they cheered on every team playing, with lots of encouragement.  Thank you to all the donations made, we feel proud about the first tournament that we have ever organised by ourselves.

Jammy Dodgers

Today saw the first school dodgeball tournament and it was amazing!

With entrant fees going to the British Heart Foundation, it was an energetic and fun way to raise money.

The teams were a mixture of boys and girls from all year groups, and they worked together really well:

The games were rapid and it was tough to see who would be the eventual winners.

Teams 2 and 6 went into the penultimate game with teams drawing on 19 points – and team 6 (against form, as Team 2 had been leading for a while) stormed to a 6-0 victory before the 2 mins were up so taking the title and trophy.

Congratulations to everyone that took part, especially to the members of Team 6.

A Cold Day In Jelly

It has been the strangest day today in class 3, but for a totally awesome reason.

As many of you know, one whacky willing pupil suggested that she spend a whole day in jelly to raise money for the Thomas Theyer Challenge.  Well, today was the day, and she appeared at registration all prepared.

Her place was ready.

Assembly was the ideal time for the filling and sitting:

At the time of writing, she has done a sterling effort and has every minute of class time in there, and on course for a total of 4 wobbly hours and 45 wibbly minutes.

She didn’t get out of working too much either, although it was less than 10 seconds before she got her table covered :-/

This is going to make a huge difference to our current total, so thank you to everyone who has sponsored her, we will post up the total raised when all the finds have come in.
