At The Peak Federation, we believe that Art and Design is a vital part of a child’s education, fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Our curriculum is designed to inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent, and create their own works of art.

We follow the Access Art scheme on a two-year rolling programme, ensuring that all children experience a broad and balanced range of artistic techniques, media, and cultural influences. This approach allows us to revisit key skills while introducing new concepts, helping pupils to build on prior learning and develop mastery over time.

In addition to our structured curriculum, we enrich the artistic experience through:

• One-off Art Days and Whole-School Projects – These special events provide opportunities for collaborative creativity and exploration beyond the classroom.
• Art Across the Curriculum – We weave art into everyday learning, using creative approaches to enhance subjects such as history, science, and literacy, making learning more engaging and meaningful.

Our aim is to nurture a lifelong appreciation of art and design, encouraging every child to see themselves as an artist and to value the role of creativity in the world around them.
