Homework

Homework will be set on Friday and is expected to be in by the following Wednesday. 

Homework will usually consist of:

• maths - practise questions which consolidate previous maths learning
• English - usually a piece of writing, inspired by our current topic. Year 6 may be given additional grammar tasks.

Morning Maths

All Year 6 children are encouraged to attend 'Morning Maths' sessions, which takes place on a Tuesday from 08:10am.  This club is free and is designed to be an additional session where mental and oral maths learning takes place.  The emphasis is on developing skills, accuracy and speed for mental calculations which supports formal written calculations.  

PE

PE is on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Children need to wear their PE kit to school on these days and warm clothing may be required as often we do PE outdoors even in cold weather.  A 'beanie hat', fleece jumper, tracksuit bottoms or leggings and fingerless gloves may be useful. No jewellery please and hair must be tied back.
