Welcome

Welcome to the online prospectus for Grindleford Primary School

Thank you for your interest in our school

Grindleford Primary opened on the 24th November 1876 and is still thriving today.

Our school is able to offer continuous and high quality education for children aged 4 to 11 years. From the moment a child starts at Grindleford Primary, we aim to work in partnership with parents, in order to make all experiences at school the very best possible. This is the start of a long and extremely rewarding time for each child at school.

I understand that you only want the very best education for your child and will want to find a school where your child will not only find academic success, but will also be happy and feel secure. To help you make a decision, please take the opportunity to meet with me and to look around the school.  You will see the school at its very best during a school day and I am always happy to show any prospective parents around. If you are unable to visit the school during the day, I shall be more than happy to meet with you one evening.

I hope that you enjoy reading this prospectus and that it helps to answer any questions you may have. Our latest Ofsted report can also be viewed from the link on the main Information page. If, however, you still have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Kate Gemmell- Headteacher

A Welcome Message from the School Council

We think our school is a great family.  We feel that the older children respect the younger children and help to look after them.

We find the lessons fun, unique and interesting.  You always make friends—friendship grows easily.

We care about and raise money for many charities and children out of school.

A Welcome Message from the School Governors

Hello and welcome to the Grindleford School online prospectus.  We hope you are considering the school for your child’s education.

Whenever the Governors visit the school we are always impressed by the hard-working, calm and happy atmosphere we see.  We know the whole staff are working hard to make the whole school experience challenging and satisfying, but at the same time ensuring the pupils are happy, motivated and safe.  These themes were commented on by the Ofsted inspector.

I believe the biggest testimony to the school is the pupils themselves, and you will find them quoted all over this prospectus.   After having read the information, should you have any further queries, do not hesitate to contact the Headteacher or ask for a school visit.  Then you can see it in action!

I truly believe the future is a genuinely exciting one for all involved with the school.

We look forward to welcoming all children into the Grindleford school family!
