Computing

We are proud of the achievements that all pupils make in computing at Grindleford Primary School.  Investment in appropriate resources and ongoing assessment of learning enables us to deliver a modern, relevant and fun approach to core computing knowledge.  This is important as we aim to support learning in all areas and prepare children for life beyond primary education.

In an ICT subject-specific inspection in 2011, we were awarded the Outstanding rating – you can read the report here.

We have continued to regularly review and update our Computing Curriculum since this inspection.  Mindful of the National Curriculum, we have redesigned our computing provision to more than cover the National Curriclum.  We use Teach Computing as our main curriclum planning tool and have worked with specialists in the field to develop a bespoke and appropriate mixed aged Scheme of Work.  Mrs Gemmell is the curriclum lead for Computing and you can access our Computing Curriculum Policy via the School Policy section of this website.
